Have you ever looked at Drafts?
Similar in style to Bear, highly customisable, tag based storing of docs and the Actions - ability to “do things” with your text; such as sending onwards in a message and so much more. This is what I love about Drafts.

It, too, is Apple-centric.
The only downfall is lack of image storage and PDF storage. (I use Apple Notes for these).

Thanks for sharing about Bear; an app I have used in the past and continue to watch with interest.
Might even try again.
