Traditions Don’t Get Much Stranger!
Ho Ho Ho…
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year”
so goes the song by Andy Williams.
For many, it’s the time for family and friends.
The lyrics continue, “There’ll be parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting, and carolling out in the snow”
The song promises great cheer and goodwill, and fun galore.
Christmas is also a time for tradition.
This is mine, as strange as it may seem…
Here in the UK, we have a publication each week called ‘Radio Times’.
It’s the original television listing magazine. Usually published on a weekly basis, it contains all the programmes that are due for broadcast for the coming week. Not just for TV, but for radio too.
We don’t normally buy it. I mean, really, with on-demand, electronic programme guides and the internet, it’s not really necessary.
Except at Christmas.
This is the one time of the year that we buy the magazine.
It’s a bumper, two-week issue, and it’s just been released for this year.
Oh! The excitement.
