My favourite podcast app

I love listening to podcasts, almost as much as I listen to music.

Whether a daily radio quiz (Ten To The Top on Radio 2 anyone?) or news programmes, history stories, tv programmes or sport, technology and much more.

There is something for everyone. Bite-sized chunks of entertainment, or hours-long episodes.

I have a number of favourites and I’ll list them at the end of this story.

One of the beauties of podcasts is that you don’t need any sophisticated equipment to listen to them.

No box on a shelf, or wireless radio(!)

All you need is your mobile phone.

There are lots of great apps to download, listen and manage your favourite podcasts.

• Spotify: Free, but
• Castro: Free, but there is a premium option of £29.99 year, which unlocks features such as trimming silence, better voice, importing audio files directly, chapter support and more.
